The Barron's 400SM, calculated by Dow Jones Indexes, measures the performance of a diversified group of U.S. companies that have been selected in part based on fundamentals-related rules-based criteria.
The index includes companies that have scored highest based on fundamentals-based rankings from MarketGrader.com based on a proprietary methodology, and that then pass additional rules-based screens by Dow Jones Indexes.
Selections are conducted twice a year and are subject to rules-based screens for market capitalization and liquidity. To ensure sector diversification, restrictions are placed on the number of securities that can be selected from any single ICB. Industry. The starting universe for stock selection is the Dow Jones Wilshire 5000 Composite Index. The index is equal-weighted.
The Barron’s 400 is published in Barron’s magazine and real-time on Barron’s Online. Detailed data can be viewed at www.barrons400.com.
